Jammies from Grammies is a registered Canadian non-profit charity collecting new pyjamas and cuddly toys for children (0-16 years of age) in the Calgary area in need of warmth, comfort and sweet dreams. We know that having something that makes you feel warm and safe can be so important to children.
It has taken a long time, but Jammies from Grammies is now a Canadian Registered Charity!
Unlike other provinces, Alberta AGLC controls fundraising and even the ability to apply for funding. There are so many rules we are extremely limited…to the point that online fundraising actually costs us money as we are required to hire someone to monitor what we are doing..we are a small charity so it costs us more to do that what we actually make for our event. Being CRA doesn’t change that but it allows us to apply for funding and as well host events where money can exchange hands and we can now issue donation receipts
We work with organizations like Woods Homes to ensure that our pyjamas get to the children that need them the most.
