Message from the Founder

Hi everybody! I started Jammies from Grammies in October 2017.

The idea for the charity stemmed from Pyjama Patrol in Ottawa who have been collecting Pyjamas for kids for a few years.

As parents, and grandparents, we all know how important bedtime is to kids. We want to help children in Calgary find the warmth, love and security they deserve by donating pyjamas to those who might go without. By doing this, they might have sweeter dreams and wake up to a brighter morning.

For most families in Calgary, you bath the kids and put them in nice fuzzy pjs. They snuggle up in bed and you know they are safe and warm. Sadly, many children don’t have that comfort and security. They sleep in the same clothes they go to school in. Many don’t even have blankets on their beds.

I want to help change that and I need your help!

I’ve been in contact with some local organizations who are very excited to get some help.

If where you work or volunteer would allow us to put a laundry basket or two with our Jammies From Grammies logo on them to collect pyjama donations, that would be wonderful. We are looking for new pyjamas for boys and girls ages 0-16.

A pair of Pj’s is such a small thing to ask for but it means everything to kids who don’t have them. And they are more than just warmth…they are security for many kids…like a favourite stuffy.

We also accept new cuddly toys.

Thank you for your support and sharing our message with others. With your help I know we can make a difference.
